Taillon to the Pirates has apparently solidified. All other news regarding the O's looking for someone other than Manny Machado is drying. Looks like we will have a new SS in the system.

Orioles select Manny Machado and Harold Reynolds delivers the great line when asked if Machadon and Arod are the same . . . "Yes, they are. They are from the Dominican Republic and both grew up in Miami." Great analysis.

You might know that a couple years back, I decided to do an experiment where I would take control of an expansion team. This year was the first MLB year and the teams sits around 21-34. Based on previous expansion scenarios, this team would pick at the end of each round. My first selection would be: Nick Castellanos, 3b, Archbishop McCarthy HS, SW Ranches, Fla. There is some concern about signability with him going this low now, but I believe in the stroke and think someone else has to as well.
